Sixfold is an AI-native platform for insurance underwriting, processing billions in premium for major carriers. The company builds AI agents that replicate expert underwriter judgment at scale, automating risk assessment and triage workflows.
You will join Central Tech, the infrastructure and platform engineering team responsible for Sixfold's shared cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes environments, deployment tooling, and observability systems. The team is modernizing the platform onto Kubernetes and GitOps, simplifying legacy AWS and Terraform infrastructure, and enabling product engineers to self-service their deployment and operational needs.
Key responsibilities:
- Build and operate cloud infrastructure using Terraform to provision AWS and Azure resources, manage Kubernetes workloads, Helm charts, Argo CD, GitHub Actions, and shared services
- Partner with product teams to identify deployment and infrastructure bottlenecks, then build reusable patterns, workflows, and tools that enable self-service
- Improve reliability and incident response using Datadog for observability; participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation (one week at a time)
- Simplify legacy infrastructure by upgrading services to modern best practices, consolidating Terraform repositories and AWS accounts, and removing fragile systems
You will begin with a defined area of ownership and expand as you learn the system. The core infrastructure is in place; your work will focus on modernization, developer experience, and operational excellence.
90-day milestones: (30 days) understand the full service-to-production flow, ship a scoped change, shadow on-call; (60 days) own a medium infrastructure improvement end-to-end, help a product team solve a real problem; (90 days) independently deliver a meaningful improvement, join primary on-call, solve ambiguous problems with clear communication of tradeoffs.
