Fanatics Betting & Gaming is seeking a Software Engineer III to join the Trading team in Leeds. This role focuses on designing and implementing scalable, secure, high-performance solutions within an event-driven architecture for the sports betting and gaming platform.
Key responsibilities include contributing to system design and implementation, analyzing and addressing complex problems in multifaceted systems, and writing efficient, modular, testable code. You'll support the full product lifecycle from concept through deployment, communicate effectively with cross-functional teams, and participate in code reviews to elevate quality. The role emphasizes becoming a product-minded engineer with deep understanding of the sports betting industry, product features, and roadmap.
You'll collaborate seamlessly with Product, Quant, and Engineering teams to deliver stable, reliable applications. Active participation in team planning and design discussions is expected, along with a focus on testability, operational metrics, and documentation. Mentorship opportunities exist to both learn and share knowledge. The position includes on-call rotation participation and occasional travel for offsite meetings and team collaboration.
Required experience: 3-5 years building and deploying scalable, high-performance applications; 2+ years with C# and cloud platforms (Azure preferred). You should demonstrate excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with strong understanding of software design principles (SOLID, DRY, TDD, BDD). Familiarity with sports betting is a plus.
