Veeam, the Data and AI Trust Company, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Reliability (SRE) to join their Bengaluru office. This is a hands-on technical leadership role within the SRE team, where you will guide senior engineers, influence product development, and ensure systems are built for reliability, scalability, and observability from inception.
Key responsibilities include designing and evolving highly available, fault-tolerant infrastructure across public clouds (primarily Azure); establishing and maintaining SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets; leading incident response and blameless postmortems; and driving adoption of deep observability practices with comprehensive telemetry, logs, metrics, and tracing. You will develop automation and self-healing tools to reduce operational toil, contribute to infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD systems, and implement testing strategies including canary deployments and chaos engineering validation.
You will embed within product and platform teams to champion reliability throughout the development lifecycle, mentor engineers globally, and advocate for DevOps/SRE best practices. Participation in on-call rotations and leadership of operational excellence across the stack are expected.
Required qualifications: 5+ years hands-on software engineering experience with at least 2 years in Site Reliability, Platform Engineering, or similar roles. Deep experience with public cloud providers (Azure preferred), strong programming skills in JS, Node, TypeScript, Go, Java, C#, or similar languages. Proven track record delivering monitoring, alerting, and observability tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry). Experience with IaC tools (Terraform/Pulumi) and container orchestration (Kubernetes). Solid understanding of distributed systems, cloud networking, and cloud-native design. Excellent cross-geographic and cross-disciplinary communication skills.
Bonus skills include large-scale B2B SaaS platform experience, chaos engineering and resilience testing background, and familiarity with compliance frameworks (ISO, SOC 2, GDPR, FedRAMP/CMMC).
