Fanatics Markets is a real-money prediction and trading platform where users invest in moments they care about—from sports and entertainment to political elections. This Software Engineer III role is a full-stack individual contributor responsible for building and maintaining web features that customers use to interact with the product.
You'll join a product at an exciting early stage, helping shape its evolution as core features are built, the platform scales, and technical foundations are refined. The role emphasizes high-quality code, best practices for AI-assisted development, and systems that handle millions of events daily.
Key responsibilities include designing, developing, testing, and deploying scalable web experiences using React, Next.js, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript. You'll contribute end-to-end: from implementation through instrumentation, deployment, monitoring, and iteration based on metrics. You'll implement experimentation capabilities (feature flags, A/B tests), integrate with backend APIs, collaborate with platform teams, and make contributions to the Go backend as needed. Code reviews, maintaining team standards, and leveraging AI tools to accelerate development velocity while maintaining security and performance standards are core to the role.
The ideal candidate has 3+ years building user-facing web applications with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and React. You should be proficient in React, component-driven development, state management patterns, and libraries like Next.js, TanStack Query, Tailwind, and Zustand. Strong understanding of JavaScript/TypeScript idioms, performance optimization, responsive design, accessibility, and web standards is expected. Experience with CI/CD pipelines, testing strategies, and safe deployment practices is required. Critically, you should have hands-on experience using AI tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, GitHub Copilot, etc.) to ship production code and be able to articulate how these tools improve your development workflow. A team-first mentality, ability to communicate technical concepts clearly, and comfort thriving in a fast-paced, evolving-priorities environment round out the profile.
