Voyager Space is seeking a Senior Software Engineer III specializing in edge computing to own critical subsystems for fielded defense and space technology solutions. This is a hands-on developer role focused on high-performance computing, where you'll architect and implement real-time data processing pipelines running on diverse hardware targets—from multi-GPU rackmount servers to power-constrained embedded modules.
Key responsibilities include designing and implementing high-throughput processing pipelines using Modern C++ and GPU-accelerated frameworks (CUDA, Holoscan, ROCm); writing and optimizing custom GPU kernels for signal processing operations with attention to memory coalescing and host-to-device data transfers; profiling full-stack software performance to identify CPU/GPU bottlenecks and optimize memory usage and PCIe bandwidth utilization; designing software interfaces that abstract specific hardware peripherals to enable GPU-based algorithms to run across diverse radio and sensor platforms; and managing build and deployment pipelines for embedded Linux operating systems to ensure fielded systems correctly expose accelerator resources to containerized applications.
You will work with minimal supervision to architect solutions and lead engineering teams through the full development lifecycle. The role requires strong technical communication skills, including presenting to internal and government stakeholders.
Required qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering; ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance (active clearance preferred); 4–7 years of software engineering design experience; proven experience leading software engineering teams; and expert proficiency in Modern C++.
Preferred qualifications include current DoD Top Secret SCI clearance, Master's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) or RF systems, and experience with kernel-bypass networking (DPDK, RDMA) or GPUDirect technologies.
