Salary: USD 82,100 - 156,000 / annual
Boston Scientific's Urology division is seeking a Software Engineer III to contribute to R&D activities across their product portfolio of Class-II and Class-III medical devices. You will work on transforming the lives of patients suffering from urological diseases, addressing clinical challenges in kidney stone care, prostate health, and urinary dysfunction.
In this role, you will architect, develop, and deploy software solutions for medical devices while growing leadership of efficient, maintainable software development processes, tools, and workflows. You will collaborate with high-performing software teams in a regulated medical device environment, contributing across the full software development lifecycle from early concept through commercial release and post-market support.

- Architecture, development, and deployment of software solutions for Class-II/Class-III medical devices
- Growing leadership of efficient, maintainable software development processes, tools, and workflows

The role follows a hybrid work model requiring presence in the Marlborough, MA office at least three days per week.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related technical discipline
- 3+ years of software development experience with proficiency in C++11 or newer
- 3+ years of software development experience on medical devices or similarly regulated safety-critical systems (aerospace, automotive)
- Experience with software development lifecycle including architecture/requirements definition, design, implementation, testing, release documentation, and post-market support
- Experience with source control, CI/CD, and requirements management tools (Git, Bitbucket, JIRA, Jenkins, Cockpit)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of OS/technology stack hardening based on cybersecurity best practices (NIST SSDF, OWASP)
- Familiarity with medical device cybersecurity activities (penetration testing, post-market surveillance)
- Working knowledge of medical device industry standards (IEC 62304, IEC 60601)
- Demonstrated ability to partner with project management on work breakdown structures and functional milestones
- Understanding of Linux-based operating system architecture fundamentals (concurrency, memory management, resource utilization)
- Familiarity with healthcare data standards (DICOM, HL7, IHE)
