Salary: USD 175,000 - 195,000 / annual

You will join the Engineering team, which tackles hard technical problems at scale. Garner's systems analyze billions of medical records to rank healthcare providers across the country. The engineering organization is an AWS + Kubernetes shop that constantly introduces new technologies as system load doubles annually. The team is aggressively embracing AI across all operations and norms. In this role, you will: - Use AI to build, optimize, and maintain software systems - Collaborate across disciplines to understand the healthcare domain and iterate on projects - Protect user privacy and security through best practices The team values engineers who champion cutting-edge industry practices and take pride in delivering excellent work while fostering strong team culture. You'll work on problems that matter at the intersection of AI and systemic healthcare reform, with real ownership and autonomy alongside exceptional, principles-based people. Garner is headquartered in NYC, but this position is fully remote with occasional travel to HQ expected. Technologies used: Claude Code, Kubernetes, AWS, Airflow, dlt, dbt, Python, TypeScript, React, Go. REQUIREMENTS: - 2+ years of software engineering experience, especially with distributed event-driven architectures - Generalist software engineering mindset ready to learn new languages, frameworks, and techniques required for a fast-paced startup environment - Familiarity with data security and HIPAA compliance - Desire to be part of a high-performing, mission-driven team that operates with intense urgency, strong individual accountability, and commitment to authentic feedback Note: The company is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.
