Ripple is building infrastructure and platforms for the global financial system using crypto and blockchain technology. As a Software Engineer II, Platform, you will contribute to Ripple's production infrastructure and release pipelines, working as a hybrid systems and software engineer supporting the design and lifecycle of hosted products.
You will work closely with product engineers to support their infrastructure needs in a self-service environment. Key responsibilities include contributing to platform features across compute, authentication, service discovery, observability, and redundancy; implementing architectural solutions under senior guidance with growing awareness of tradeoffs between scale, cost, and maintenance; supporting and mentoring junior engineers through code reviews and knowledge sharing; deploying and maintaining Ripple's multi-region, multi-provider service platforms with focus on security and reliability; building and improving tooling for automation, monitoring, and instrumentation to reduce operational friction; contributing to platform and application lifecycle services toward automated, data-driven workflows; participating in discussions around scalable, maintainable, and cost-effective solutions; and learning and applying DevOps and GitOps principles.
Required qualifications include a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related technical field; 3–6 years of relevant work experience with development background in Go, Python, or Java and strong understanding of software engineering best practices and system design; hands-on experience with cloud providers like AWS; working knowledge of orchestration platforms (Kubernetes, Rancher) and containerization technologies; experience contributing to deployment pipelines using CI/CD tools; familiarity with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation; exposure to observability platforms leveraging Prometheus and OpenTelemetry with interest in building instrumentation patterns and monitoring SLOs/SLIs; collaborative team player orientation with customer service mindset; and strong communication skills (written, verbal, and interpersonal).
