Adyen is a global financial technology platform providing payments, data, and financial products for enterprise customers including Facebook, Uber, H&M, and Microsoft. The Financial Products team is responsible for banking, issuing, FX, and capital products built on top of the core payments infrastructure. In this role, you will work on complex technical projects across the full lifecycle: requirements analysis, design, implementation, testing, and production launch. You'll be a hands-on contributor building APIs and tooling that operate at massive scale, serving millions of merchants and shoppers globally. Your responsibilities include identifying opportunities to improve platform robustness and scalability, contributing to engineering best practices, and collaborating across distributed teams. Key focus areas: designing and implementing financial product features, building REST APIs and webhooks, optimizing for performance and code quality, and shipping features rapidly with an iterate-fast mentality. You'll work with Java, PostgreSQL, distributed systems, and collaborate cross-functionally with data science, frontend, and product teams. The role requires 3+ years of software development experience in fast-paced tech environments, strong Java proficiency, and expertise with web services, REST APIs, webhooks, and SQL. You should have a solid grasp of software engineering practices, an experimental mindset, and comfort working in cross-functional teams. The position is based in Amsterdam with an office-first culture (3 days per week in-office); remote-only arrangements are not available.
