Salary: CAD 133,000 - 183,000 / annual
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, offering consumers flexible buy-now-pay-later options without hidden fees or compounding interest. The Marketplace and App Experience domain drives the core consumer strategy across all frontend surfaces—mobile and web.
In this role, you'll work on cross-team frontend projects at the forefront of Affirm's consumer experience. You'll collaborate with mobile and web engineers, product managers, designers, and analytics teams to deliver user-facing features across the Home hub and various product journeys.
Key responsibilities include:
- Breaking down larger projects into individual tasks and delivering them in multiple phases with team support
- Collaborating with product, design, and analytics teams during ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on risk/trade-off decisions
- Supporting operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in on-call efforts
- Contributing to team culture through growth activities and participation in the interview process
- Shipping production code across web (React/Vue), mobile (React Native), and backend (Kotlin/Python) systems
- Navigating large codebases, debugging, and providing thoughtful code reviews
- Taking ownership of your growth and communicating effectively with a global engineering team
You'll need 1.5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in declarative UI frameworks, mobile development, and API design at scale. Strong fundamentals in writing clear, well-tested, extensible code and the ability to own complex problems end-to-end are essential.
