Salary: USD 146,000 - 225,000 / annual
Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, offering consumers flexible buy-now-pay-later options without hidden fees or compounding interest. The Marketplace and App Experience domain drives the core consumer strategy across all frontend surfaces—mobile and web.
In this role, you'll work on cross-team frontend projects at the forefront of Affirm's consumer experience. You'll collaborate with mobile and web engineers, product managers, designers, and analytics teams to evolve product experiences across the platform.
Key responsibilities include:
- Breaking down larger projects into individual tasks and delivering them in phases with support from your tech lead and manager
- Collaborating with product, design, and analytics teams during ideation, articulating technical constraints, and partnering on decisions that balance risks and trade-offs
- Supporting team operations and availability by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues, and participating in on-call efforts
- Contributing to team growth through participation in interviews and peer development activities
- Navigating large codebases, debugging, and providing constructive code review feedback
You'll need 1.5+ years of software engineering experience with demonstrated expertise in:
- Shipping web apps using declarative UI frameworks (React, Vue)
- Shipping mobile apps using native or cross-platform technologies (React Native)
- Designing, developing, and launching APIs at scale (Kotlin, Python)
- Writing clear, well-tested, extensible code that solves complex problems
- Strong verbal and written communication for effective global collaboration
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience
