As a Software Engineer II - Frontend, you will design and own end-to-end frontend features for production systems serving global payroll, payments, and compliance workflows. You'll contribute to scalability, performance, and consistency across the platform while extending the design system and shared component libraries.
Key responsibilities include architecting reusable components, optimizing rendering performance and bundle size, implementing comprehensive test coverage, and leading small frontend initiatives. You'll partner with backend engineers to influence API design for optimal user experience and collaborate closely with product and design teams to shape user flows. The role involves proactively identifying and addressing UX, performance, and technical debt issues, owning frontend build configuration and CI/CD processes, and mentoring junior engineers through technical reviews.
Required qualifications: 3+ years of professional frontend experience with strong expertise in React and TypeScript. You should have experience building scalable component systems, understanding state management patterns, rendering lifecycle optimization, code splitting, and lazy loading. Familiarity with Tailwind CSS, Radix UI, Storybook, Jest, Cypress, accessibility standards, and responsive design is expected. You must have demonstrated ownership of frontend features in production, a strong product mindset focused on user experience, and proven leadership in small teams or initiatives. The ideal candidate balances delivery speed with long-term maintainability.
