Abnormal AI is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Dev Accelerator team, which builds and operates the internal developer platform serving 100+ engineers. This platform provides the tools, libraries, and infrastructure that enable product teams and AI agents to design, build, test, and ship products quickly and safely.
The team recently shipped autonomous PR generators for migrations and linter enforcement, testing frameworks with data generation and coverage tooling, CI execution optimizations, a "Prompt-to-Product" CLI that scaffolds services end-to-end with environment and credentials management, and large-scale code migrations to improve codebase shape for AI efficacy.
As a Software Engineer II, you will own high-leverage projects across CLI tooling, CI/CD, shared libraries, and test infrastructure. You'll work with Python, Go, Bazel, Kubernetes, AWS, and CI systems to make the Golden Path fast, reliable, and intuitive. A key focus is shaping abstractions and workflows that are AI-native and consumable by both humans and AI agents.
This is an individual-contributor role with ownership of multi-quarter initiatives. Success requires close collaboration with product engineering, Infrastructure, SRE, Security, and partner teams.
Required: 3+ years of software engineering experience, proficiency leveraging AI tools to accelerate engineering outcomes, and experience or strong interest in using LLMs to improve developer workflows (e.g., failure summarization, smart code generation, AI-native CLIs).
Nice to have: familiarity with Python, Golang, Bazel, AWS, Kubernetes, Github Actions; experience building or maintaining CLI tools, scaffolding systems, or internal frameworks; test data management and E2E test infrastructure experience; hands-on CLI development, YAML/Jinja2 templating, modern type hints, pytest/Ginkgo testing, gRPC/HTTP service development, and reusable workflow authoring.
