Salary: USD 85,000 - 130,000 / annual

Tempus is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, and maintain custom software systems and integrations. You will work within an agile/scrum team alongside fellow software engineers, QA engineers, and business systems analysts to deliver enhanced product value. Key responsibilities include writing production Python code, designing technical solutions in collaboration with IT operations teams, participating in scrum ceremonies (backlog grooming, sprint planning, daily standups), and meeting with stakeholders to understand workflows and requirements. You will participate in code reviews (both giving and receiving feedback), help leads and systems analysts refine tickets through workflow analysis, monitor processes and logs to troubleshoot issues, and propose technical or functional enhancements using critical thinking. Required qualifications: minimum 3 years professional Python development experience, including work with relational databases (RDS, MySQL) and NoSQL databases (MongoDB). You must be able to write and optimize complex SQL queries, work with web frameworks (Flask and/or Django), understand frontend web development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript), and have experience with web services (REST, SOAP, AMQP). Additional required skills include Docker containerization, ability to read/write structured and unstructured data formats (JSON, CSV, XML), and competency translating functional requirements into technical specifications. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field, experience with ReactJS or similar frontend frameworks, and AWS or other cloud technology certifications. Knowledge of or interest in learning lab processes, protocols, and data structures is a plus. This role offers the opportunity to work on healthcare analytics and data systems in a fully remote capacity.
