Refyne is seeking a Software Engineer II to design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain high-quality backend services and RESTful APIs. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including front-end, product, and design teams to build robust solutions. The role involves contributing to both low-level and high-level design discussions and documentation, ensuring technical excellence across the platform.
Key responsibilities include developing and managing database schemas using both SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB, DynamoDB) technologies while ensuring data integrity and performance. You will implement robust user authentication and authorization mechanisms such as JWT and Firebase Auth, and proactively identify and resolve issues through effective error handling and monitoring strategies.
You will write clean, efficient, and well-documented code following best practices and design patterns. The role requires active participation in CI/CD processes and leveraging AWS cloud services for deployment and infrastructure management. You'll engage in code reviews, contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, and help foster a culture of technical excellence.
Required qualifications include 2-4 years of professional backend development experience with strong proficiency in Node.js, NestJS, JavaScript, TypeScript, and Python. You should have solid understanding of Data Structures, Algorithms, and Design Patterns, along with hands-on experience in RESTful API design and communication. Experience with asynchronous programming concepts (async/await, Promises, event loop) is essential.
You should be proficient with both SQL and NoSQL databases, understand user authentication and authorization principles, and have working knowledge of Firebase authentication and JWT. Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies and CI/CD concepts/tools is required. Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and excellent communication abilities are important. A passion for working in a high-paced startup environment with a continuous learning mindset is valued.
