GoGuardian is seeking a Software Engineer II, Fullstack to design and implement architectural solutions for Pear Assessment, a real-time interactive formative assessment platform used by K-12 educators. The role focuses on building features that enable teachers to capture diverse student responses, gain instant insights, and adapt instruction in live and self-paced learning environments.
You will work across the full stack: developing React-based classroom experiences and interactive assessment workflows on the frontend, designing scalable backend services in TypeScript/Node.js, and optimizing data pipelines that power instant feedback and analytics. The platform leverages OpenSearch for semantic search across 500+ million educational documents, AWS cloud infrastructure (SQS, S3, IoT services), MongoDB for data storage, and LLM/AI integrations for intelligent features like automated insights and content generation.
Key responsibilities include designing and improving the Pear Assessment product, building high-performance backend services and React interfaces, developing semantic search systems, optimizing data pipelines for low-latency teacher insights, collaborating cross-functionally with product and design teams, ensuring system reliability and scalability, improving code quality and testing practices, participating in architecture discussions, and integrating AI/LLM services.
You bring 4+ years of professional software development experience in production environments, strong expertise in JavaScript/TypeScript/Node.js/Python with understanding of concurrency patterns and service-oriented architecture, modern React development with TypeScript, API design and consumption (REST/WebSocket), database experience (SQL/NoSQL, particularly MongoDB/PostgreSQL), knowledge of caching and performance optimization, and AWS cloud platform experience. The role is fully remote and based in India.
