New Relic is seeking a Software Engineer II to join the Container Fabric (CF) organization, a key team responsible for evolving the company's global internal platform. This is an operations-heavy engineering role focused on building and scaling resilient infrastructure that powers observability at scale.
In this position, you will work on large-scale Kubernetes infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance across New Relic's platform. You'll drive the evolution of internal tooling to streamline platform delivery and take ownership of critical infrastructure components that support the entire organization.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing and maintaining large-scale Kubernetes infrastructure platforms
- Writing custom Kubernetes Operators and automation tooling
- Managing production environments and handling high-severity incidents
- Implementing cloud-native scaling solutions and Day 1/Day 2 operations
- Contributing to GitOps workflows and infrastructure-as-code practices
Required qualifications:
- Solid hands-on background in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, or Infrastructure Engineering
- Deep knowledge of Kubernetes primitives (Deployments, StatefulSets, Services) with experience writing custom operators
- Proficiency in Go for infrastructure automation and systems programming
- Proven track record managing production environments and handling incidents
- Hands-on experience with cloud-native scaling tools (Karpenter, Cluster API)
- Familiarity with Helm and GitOps workflows (ArgoCD, Flux)
