We are seeking an experienced mid-level backend engineer to join our Bengaluru office on a hybrid basis (2 days on-site). You will work cross-functionally across teams to design and develop robust backend services at scale.
Key responsibilities:
- Design and implement features for large-scale systems
- Break down complex problems into elegant solutions and write high-quality, maintainable code
- Create and maintain test automation for continuous integration and development velocity
- Design and deliver REST APIs that drive interactions between client applications and backend services
- Learn and implement new technologies quickly
- Participate in design reviews and iterate on improvements
- Debug production issues across the services infrastructure and stack
- Think critically about distributed systems and care deeply about code quality
Required qualifications:
- 3+ years of software engineering experience
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in computer science, computer engineering, or related technical discipline (or equivalent industry experience)
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (C#, Kotlin, Java, Python, Go, Scala)
- Hands-on experience with databases (DynamoDB, MySQL, ElasticSearch) and data pipeline technologies
- Experience with CI/CD tools
- Strong functional and integration testing experience
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools (Copilot, Cursor, LLMs)
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments with bias toward action and results
Desirable qualifications:
- Experience with Kubernetes, microservices, and event-driven architecture
- Background in payments or fintech
