We are seeking a Software Engineer II to join our team in Dundee. This is a full-stack engineering role focused on designing and developing robust, scalable solutions using modern cloud-native technologies. Key Responsibilities: - Design and develop full-stack applications using Java microservices architecture - Build RESTful and SOAP-based APIs with a focus on extensibility and integration - Develop frontend components using HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, and Angular - Implement test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD) practices - Work with NoSQL databases, JPA, and Hibernate for data persistence - Deploy and troubleshoot applications in Kubernetes (K8s) environments - Collaborate with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment - Participate in CI/CD pipeline development using Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, and Docker - Apply modern engineering practices and quality assurance standards Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field - 2–4 years of professional software design and development experience - 2+ years with Java, Spring Framework/Spring Boot, and microservices architecture - Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases, JPA, and Hibernate - Strong frontend skills: HTML5, JavaScript, CSS, Angular - Proficiency with TDD/BDD methodologies - Experience building and consuming RESTful services - Familiarity with CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Maven, Gradle, Docker - Demonstrated experience deploying and troubleshooting in Kubernetes - Deep understanding of software development and QA best practices - Excellent communication and teamwork skills - Proven experience working in Agile teams Beneficial Skills: - Experience with AI coding assistants (Cursor or equivalent) - Hands-on application of Generative AI for code generation, refactoring, test generation, and documentation - Strong understanding of responsible AI usage, including code correctness, security, data privacy, and licensing - Ability to critically review and validate AI-generated code Our Experience-Led, Intelligence-Driven approach combines human-centered design with data, automation, and cloud-based innovation.
