This Software Engineer II role focuses on post-transaction systems—the infrastructure that keeps customer accounts accurate and resolves issues after card transactions settle. You'll work on systems that directly determine whether customers receive accurate resolutions and timely communications, collaborating closely with product, compliance, and cross-functional teams.
Key responsibilities include breaking down larger projects into individual tasks and delivering them in multiple phases with support from your tech lead and manager. You'll collaborate with product management, design, and analytics during ideation, articulating technical constraints and partnering on decisions that balance risks and trade-offs. You'll also support operations and availability of your team's systems by creating and monitoring metrics, escalating issues when needed, and participating in on-call rotations. Additionally, you'll contribute to team community through growth activities such as participating in the interview process.
You'll need 1.5+ years of software engineering experience, with expertise designing, developing, and launching backend systems. Proficiency in Python or Kotlin is required. Familiarity with distributed systems, AWS, MySQL, and Kubernetes is essential. You should be comfortable navigating large codebases, debugging others' code, and providing constructive feedback through code reviews. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical for collaborating with a global engineering team. A Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience is required.
