DeepL is seeking a Software Engineer to join its Identity and Access Management team in London. You will own the full identity stack—organization, group, account, consent and session management, SSO federation, SCIM provisioning, and OIDC provider—for both internal and external users. This is foundational infrastructure that every DeepL product depends on for secure authentication and authorization at scale. You will ship end-to-end features, not just maintain code. You'll collaborate closely with teammates across Identity and adjacent teams, participate in code reviews and design discussions, and actively raise engineering standards. The role emphasizes using modern AI-assisted tools (Copilot, Claude) to handle boilerplate and refactoring, freeing you to focus on logic and product value. Key responsibilities include owning feature implementation from concept to production, writing well-tested and production-ready code, participating in incident response and postmortems, and contributing to shared engineering standards. You'll work with a modern stack: C#/.NET Core, Cassandra, gRPC, and Kubernetes. We're looking for engineers with strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and clean coding. You should have a solid foundation in backend development and server-side systems, with curiosity about enterprise B2B SaaS identity challenges (authentication, authorization, security, auditing). Ownership and reliability are critical—you take responsibility for what you ship, monitor code in production, and treat incidents as learning opportunities. You're adaptable, willing to learn new tools, and leverage AI-powered development to accelerate velocity and eliminate repetitive work. DeepL is a global AI company founded in 2017, now with ~1,000 employees serving 200,000+ business customers and millions of individuals across 228 markets. The company builds the entire AI stack in-house and is backed by top-tier investors including Benchmark, IVP, and Index Ventures.
