Salary: USD 150,000 - 190,000 / annual

The Identity and Access Management (IAM) team is responsible for building a secure, reliable, and seamless identity management platform that authenticates and authorizes every request reaching Postman's services.
In this role, you will be a senior engineer on the IAM team, contributing to the architecture and development of Postman's identity infrastructure. Your responsibilities include:
- Building and optimizing authentication standards and protocols including OAuth 2.0, OIDC, SCIM, and SAML
- Developing secure, reliable, and scalable IAM platform components that serve millions of users
- Conducting research in areas such as role engineering, session management, and implementing standardized formats for cross-functional authentication and authorization needs
- Collaborating with Product Managers, Designers, Security Engineers, and Platform Engineers to develop APIs and products
- Leveraging your technical expertise to architect solutions and facilitate knowledge sharing across teams on authentication best practices
- Designing and building internal tooling to support product development and maintenance
You bring 5+ years of experience building complex backend or distributed systems at scale. You are proficient in JavaScript, Node.js, and React.js with strong web fundamentals. You have deep knowledge of database design, query optimization, indexing, and caching strategies. You have a proven track record of building products from scratch and ideally possess knowledge of authentication protocols and products. You are product-oriented, empathetic to user needs, and enjoy learning and sharing knowledge across teams.
Postman values in-person collaboration and requires 5 days per week in office at their Cupertino hub (part of the SF Bay Area).
