You'll use developer surveys, direct conversations, and system metrics to guide your work. REQUIREMENTS: - 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent hands-on experience - Strong JavaScript or TypeScript skills with production ecosystem experience (Node.js, Bun, or browser-based) - Hands-on experience with JavaScript unit testing and end-to-end testing (Jest, Vitest, Playwright) - Proven track record shipping and maintaining production software with automated tests - Careful debugging approach; you test assumptions and follow evidence to root causes - Curiosity about unfamiliar code and patience to learn complex systems - High bar for user experience; you notice friction points and care about usability details - Ability to complete clearly defined projects independently while knowing when to collaborate - Clear communication, willingness to give and receive feedback, and knowledge-sharing mindset EXTRA CREDIT (not required): - Build systems or CI experience (Buildkite, GitHub Actions, Docker, Kubernetes) - Experience building or extending test frameworks and shared libraries - Track record making tests faster or fixing flaky tests - Hands-on use of coding agents with ability to write effective instructions - Automated code review or testing experience - Experience improving build and release reliability and security - Proficiency with logs, metrics, or traces for investigation
