Luminary is an AI-native platform transforming wealth transfer and estate planning for high-net-worth households. The company serves 1,000+ customers across private banks, wealth managers, trust companies, tax advisory practices, and law firms, helping them deliver personalized, end-to-end wealth transfer services at scale.
As a Fullstack Software Engineer, you'll own features end-to-end, from customer conversations through data modeling, interface design, and deployment. You'll work across the full technology stack: document ingestion, knowledge graph generation, tax and wealth transfer modeling, multiplayer collaboration tools, chat agents, complex diagram-based UIs, and agentic advisory workflows.
Key responsibilities include building AI agents with multiple surfaces (chat, ambient background agents, model-callable tools), designing and implementing data models in Postgres, building product functionality in Go, and creating interfaces in React and TypeScript. You'll use coding agents (Amp) heavily to accelerate development. You'll establish and refine engineering patterns for data modeling, GraphQL, and component architecture, knowing when to break conventions. You'll learn the estate planning domain from in-house subject matter experts, wealth strategists, advisors, and attorneys. You'll collaborate closely with experienced product designers to translate complex tax and legal concepts into usable advisor tools.
The engineering culture emphasizes shipping to production multiple times daily through small, reviewable changes. The team invests in modern tooling (Meticulous, Honeycomb, Temporal, PostHog, Braintrust) to keep the team lean and maximize leverage. Engineers own outcomes and talk directly to customers to understand their wins and pain points.
Luminary has offices in NYC near Bryant Park with a strong in-office culture, but supports remote work for those who prefer it.
