Peregrine Technologies is an AI-enabled platform backed by leading Silicon Valley investors that helps public safety organizations, state and local governments, federal agencies, and private-sector institutions turn siloed data into operational intelligence. The company serves hundreds of customers across 30+ states and two countries, impacting over 125 million people.
The Product Experiences team builds the features users interact with daily across the Peregrine platform. As a Software Engineer on this team, you will have vast ownership across major capabilities including Search, Dossier, Charts, Dashboards, Maps, Network, Table, Workspace, Docs, Automations, and Mobile. You'll work cross-functionally with design and product management to ship experiences that are fast, intuitive, and trustworthy, transforming enormous amounts of data into actionable intelligence for investigators and analysts.
Key responsibilities include building search and semantic discovery across billions of records, designing Dossier views that assemble complete entity pictures on demand, and crafting real-time collaborative experiences on maps and networks. You'll bring AI-powered capabilities to users where source transparency and trust are critical, obsessing over latency, interaction design, and resilience to make complex workflows feel effortless.
The technical stack includes React, Redux, TypeScript, and Mapbox on the frontend; Python, Django, Celery, Airflow, and Kafka on the backend; PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch for data; machine learning models in Bedrock and Sagemaker; and AWS, Pulumi, Terraform, and Kubernetes for infrastructure.
You should have 2+ years of experience with cross-functional software development teams, strong frontend fundamentals in React/TypeScript with full-stack capability, and experience shipping production-grade user-facing software. A degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience is required. You must be located in San Francisco or Washington, D.C. and open to working in office.
