Thatch is building software to give employees real control over their health benefits. The company is rewiring how health benefits work by creating intuitive product experiences and backend systems that drive activation and engagement. You'll join the Product Engagement team as a Full Stack Engineer, owning core product flows from account creation through enrollment. Your responsibilities include building and shipping full-stack features (backend services and user-facing interfaces), instrumenting product surfaces to understand user behavior, designing and iterating on changes that improve conversion, and collaborating closely with product, design, and cross-functional partners. Key responsibilities: - Own and improve core product flows related to onboarding, activation, and enrollment - Build and ship full-stack features across the entire stack - Instrument product surfaces to understand user behavior and identify improvement opportunities - Design, test, and iterate on changes that improve conversion metrics - Work closely with product, design, and cross-functional teams to ship solutions - Contribute to systems that support engagement and lifecycle messaging You should have experience building and shipping production web applications across the stack, strong product judgment, ability to reason about user behavior using data, experience owning features end-to-end, and a track record of cross-functional collaboration. The company values scope of ownership, impact delivered, and quality decision-making over specific credentials. The tech stack includes Ruby on Rails for backend, React and TailwindCSS for frontend, and Mixpanel, Segment, and Braze for analytics and engagement. Experience with onboarding/activation product areas, early-stage or high-growth companies, and healthcare or finance domains is a plus. Thatch is a fully distributed, early-stage company operating with trust, ownership, and high empathy. The team moves quickly, ships early, learns from real usage, and iterates. The hiring process typically takes about three weeks and includes recruiter conversation, hiring manager discussion, pair programming session, systems design interview, engineering manager conversation, and final leadership conversation.
