You will be a full-stack engineer shipping products that help customers understand and act on their climate data. The role spans hands-on engineering, customer collaboration, and climate domain mastery. Watershed's technical stack includes a React/TypeScript web frontend, Node.js backend, climate data infrastructure, climate models, and integrations with financial systems.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building interactive data visualizations for climate leads to understand company emissions
- Developing APIs to unify carbon data access for customers and internal engineers
- Creating tools for financial institutions to measure and report emissions across portfolio companies
- Building data ingestion and interpretation tools for customers
- Shipping code to production from day one
- Collaborating with product, design, climate science, and data science teams
You should have 4+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in Node.js web development or data pipelines. You're excited by startups, can build scalable software from user needs, and are ready to help evolve a growing engineering team. Prior expertise in Watershed's specific stack is not required—ability to pick up technologies quickly is more important.
The company values customer obsession, outcome orientation, and inclusivity. Watershed has offices in San Francisco, New York, Denver, London, Paris, Berlin, Sydney, and Mexico City, with remote team members across the US and Europe. This role is based in San Francisco and requires 4 days per week in office.
