Beacon AI is building an AI platform to enhance flight safety, efficiency, and capability in aviation. The company is backed by top investors, holds a dozen Department of Defense contracts, and partners with major airlines to deliver mission-critical systems.
As a Frontend Web App Engineer, you will design and implement React-based features for web applications that integrate with the flight safety platform. You'll work with real-time and historical aviation data, collaborating closely with senior engineers, product managers, and UX/UI designers to develop user-facing features that enable interaction with complex aviation datasets.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building React-based web application features that handle real-time and historical aviation data
- Integrating, processing, and visualizing data from multiple sources including live streams and archived datasets
- Partnering with backend engineers, product managers, and designers on feature design and implementation
- Contributing to code reviews and maintaining established frontend best practices and architectural patterns
- Ensuring frontend systems are reliable and maintainable through testing and documentation
- Developing reusable components and shared frontend libraries
You should have 2+ years of experience building user-facing web applications (or equivalent through internships, projects, or coursework). Required skills include React, TypeScript, JavaScript, state management, and modern web standards (HTML/CSS). You'll need familiarity with asynchronous frontend patterns and working with APIs or data streams. Strong problem-solving skills, ability to learn from feedback and mentorship, and attention to code quality and performance are essential.
Bonus experience includes passion for aviation, familiarity with mapping or geospatial tools (Mapbox, Cesium), and exposure to live data or video streaming concepts.
The role is hybrid based in San Carlos, CA, requiring 3+ days per week onsite with flexibility to work remotely on remaining days.
