Luminary is an AI-native platform transforming wealth transfer and estate planning for high-net-worth households. The company serves 1,000+ customers including multi-family offices, private banks, trust companies, and top law firms, helping advisors manage complex trust structures, tax implications, and multi-generational wealth transfer at scale.
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, you'll own the user-facing interfaces that make estate planning legible and actionable. Your work spans AI-native chat surfaces for advisors, ambient agent workflows with transparent decision-making, complex entity structure diagrams with dozens of relationships, and multi-decade financial projections visualized for clarity.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building sophisticated frontend interfaces that surface AI-extracted data from estate documents in digestible, actionable forms
- Owning frontend architecture: component patterns, state management (Apollo), performance optimization, and shared primitives
- Partnering closely with experienced product designers and the Head of Design to shape product direction early
- Attention to detail: empty states, loading behavior, keyboard navigation, and interactions that build user trust
- Collaborating with backend engineers to shape APIs that serve your frontend needs
You'll work with React, TypeScript, GraphQL (Apollo), and Playwright in a small, senior engineering team that ships to production multiple times daily. The team uses modern observability tools (Honeycomb, PostHog, Sentry, Meticulous) and workflow infrastructure (Temporal) to maintain quality and velocity.
The role offers significant autonomy: you'll talk directly with customers, work with in-house domain experts on trust and tax law, and help build foundational product in a nascent category with room to expand into adjacent markets. You'll report to the Head of Engineering and work closely with the CEO and Head of Product.
Luminary is backed by 8VC, Fin Capital, Rockefeller Capital, Focus Financial Partners, and family offices. The company has an office near Bryant Park in NYC with a strong in-office culture, but remote work is fully supported.
