Peregrine Technologies is a Silicon Valley-backed AI platform company serving public safety organizations, government agencies, and private-sector institutions. The company transforms siloed data into operational intelligence, enabling faster, better decisions. Peregrine currently supports hundreds of customers across 30+ states and two countries, serving over 125 million people.
You'll join the Platform team, a group of detail-oriented engineers focused on innovation, technical excellence, and results. The team owns Peregrine's mission-critical infrastructure and high-impact, platform-spanning initiatives.
In this role, you'll have significant ownership across the full stack, making decisions with outsized, long-term impact. You'll push the boundaries of what a data platform can do—creating novel capabilities that span the platform and optimizing subsystems for order-of-magnitude performance improvements. Example projects include re-architecting the Elasticsearch cluster to reduce response times from seconds to milliseconds, and owning other strategic initiatives that deliver industry-leading platform performance.
The tech stack includes Python, Django, Celery, Airflow, and Kafka on the backend; React, Redux, and Mapbox on the frontend; PostgreSQL and Elasticsearch for data storage; ML models in Bedrock and SageMaker; and AWS, Pulumi, Terraform, and Kubernetes for infrastructure.
You should have 2–5 years of experience shipping production-grade software with cross-functional teams, a strong understanding of product development and large codebases, and the ability to write robust, well-tested code. You must be located in NYC and open to working in office. The team values ownership, collaboration, humility, empathy, perseverance, and creativity.
