The Mission Software Engineering team builds, deploys, integrates, extends, and scales Anduril's software to deliver mission-critical capabilities. As a Software Engineer on this team, you will be among the software engineers closest to Anduril's customers and end-users, solving technical challenges of operational scenarios while owning end-to-end delivery of capabilities such as Counter Intrusion, Joint All Domain Command & Control, and Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems.
You will solve a wide variety of problems involving networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and more, making pragmatic engineering tradeoffs. Your efforts ensure Anduril products work seamlessly together to achieve critical outcomes. Mission Software Engineers are driven by a "Whatever It Takes" mindset—executing in an expedient, scalable, and pragmatic way while keeping the mission top-of-mind and making sound engineering decisions.
Key responsibilities include: owning software solutions deployed to customers; writing code to improve products and scale mission capability; collaborating across teams to plan, build, and test complex functionality; building and analyzing metrics and dashboards to debug and monitor production systems; triaging issues and driving resolution; writing and maintaining tests and contributing to CI/CD pipelines; and partnering with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints. Limited travel is required.
Required qualifications: strong engineering background (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics); 2-5+ years professional experience with TypeScript; experience with Go and Python preferred; experience building and shipping user-facing web interfaces (React, Vue, or similar); experience with distributed systems and high-throughput data pipelines; ability to navigate complex systems and codebases; strong debugging skills across distributed systems; strong testing discipline and CI/CD experience; strong Git skills; desire to work on critical software with real-world impact; and eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. TS clearance.
Preferred qualifications: 2-5+ years experience in Linux environments; Kubernetes experience; cloud platform experience (AWS, GCP); and Protocol Buffers/gRPC experience.
