Path Robotics is seeking a Platform-focused Software Engineer to join their team building embodied AI systems that enable robots to adapt, learn, and perform in real-world environments. This role bridges software development and fleet orchestration, requiring a unique blend of developer skills and platform operations experience.
You will be responsible for building and scaling configuration management processes to support robotic fleets, automating complex infrastructure including enterprise-scale AWS account management and deployments. Key responsibilities include designing and maintaining Over-the-Air (OTA) software deployment systems to ensure seamless updates across robotic assets, supporting enterprise-level authentication and authorization migrations, and implementing robotics observability tooling (such as Foxglove) to improve robot-to-cloud integration and monitoring.
Additional duties include developing automated incident reporting and escalation tooling to proactively identify and resolve production issues, and collaborating with product engineers to ensure the platform meets the needs of both the robotic fleet and interfacing applications.
You will work with Python, Terraform HCL, Node.js, and Ansible for languages; AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform for infrastructure; and tools like GitHub Actions, Jira, and Confluence for collaboration. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience) with 2+ years in production support, development, and DevOps practices.
You should be a hybrid engineer who understands the interdependent relationship between product features and underlying infrastructure, proficient in managing cloud environments with experience in multi-account deployments. A strong interest in robotics tooling, hands-on experience with distributed systems troubleshooting, and a security-minded approach to enterprise identity management at scale are essential.
