The Software Engineer, Expansion role is part of a team building tools that help larger teams and companies manage their applications as they scale. You will take complete end-to-end ownership of full-stack projects, designing and building features that make simple deployments effortless and complex deployments possible. The focus is on user experience and developer-first design.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building new products and features for the expansion team
- Collaborating closely with design, product, and cross-functional stakeholders
- Evolving and maturing the Render codebase as the product scales
- Participating in team planning, roadmapping, and goal-setting
- Helping shape team culture and practices
- Participating in on-call responsibilities
You should have 6+ years of professional experience shipping software, with strong full-stack capabilities across web frameworks, APIs, and databases. Experience at high-growth startups is a plus. The role requires wearing multiple hats, strong ownership mentality, and pragmatic decision-making. Nice-to-haves include familiarity with Go, TypeScript, React, Kubernetes, Postgres, Terraform, and Temporal.
