Coinbase is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the CX Shared Agent Platforms and SFDC Solutions team, part of the Enterprise Applications and Architecture organization. This role focuses on building and extending platforms that power customer service and compliance operations across Coinbase's global operations.
You will develop full-stack backend services and integrations using Golang and gRPC that drive agent productivity, support strategic platform transitions, and deliver impact at scale. Key responsibilities include building scalable backend services, owning the evaluation and integration of third-party SaaS platforms (Salesforce, Maestro QA, Assembled), and ensuring seamless connectivity across the CX tooling ecosystem.
You'll partner cross-functionally with product, design, security, and data teams to solve complex operational and compliance challenges. You'll also drive engineering best practices across the team, including code reviews, testing strategies, deployment processes, and observability standards (metrics, logging, tracing). A critical aspect of this role is translating complex technical concepts into clear recommendations for non-technical stakeholders across CX, product, and leadership.
Required qualifications include 5+ years of software engineering experience with proficiency in Go and hands-on experience building scalable backend services using gRPC, event-driven architectures (Kafka or similar), and SQL/NoSQL databases. You should have demonstrated experience evaluating, integrating, and operating third-party SaaS applications and vendor APIs in production environments.
You'll operate production systems on AWS with Kubernetes, Terraform, and CI/CD tooling (BuildKite or similar), including implementation of rate limiters, caching, load balancing, and circuit breakers. The role requires proven ability to contribute to technical architecture decisions and translate them into reliable, high-traffic production systems. Responsible use of generative AI tools (LibreChat, Gemini, Glean) with human oversight is expected to drive measurable improvements in workflow efficiency, cost, and quality.
