Snowflake is seeking Software Engineers to join the Dynamic Tables team in Berlin, Germany. Dynamic Tables is a next-generation data platform feature that enables customers to transform data using declarative SQL while maintaining control over cost, latency, and throughput.
In this role, you will work alongside seasoned engineers and product managers in a globally distributed team to design and build Dynamic Tables capabilities. You'll be responsible for designing, implementing, and evolving new features and performance improvements. Your work will span the full lifecycle from ambiguous problem definition through production deployment, including analyzing and solving performance, correctness, and fault-tolerance challenges at scale.
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with engineers and Product Managers to design and build Dynamic Tables features
- Breaking down complex problems, weighing tradeoffs, and making technical decisions
- Investigating unfamiliar parts of large systems to root cause and solve problems
- Ensuring operational readiness and meeting customer commitments on reliability, availability, and performance
- Understanding customer usage patterns to inform product direction
- Helping shape technical and product strategy with senior teammates
You should have 2+ years of industry experience designing and building database internals or data-intensive systems (or equivalent research experience). Strong CS fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems are essential. You'll need a track record of taking problems from conception to production software, proficiency with AI-native software engineering workflows, and excellent problem-solving skills. A BS in Computer Science or related field and strong English communication skills are required.
Bonus experience includes query compilers/optimizers, database internals, enterprise-grade reliable software, large-scale distributed systems, transactions and consistency models, or contributions to open-source data infrastructure.
