Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Software Integration Environment (SIE) platform team. SIE is a critical infrastructure platform that enables rapid development, testing, and deployment of autonomous systems for military applications across cloud and edge-connected environments.
In this role, you will design and build backend services that provision, orchestrate, and manage distributed test and simulation environments running on Kubernetes. You'll own significant subsystems end-to-end, from architectural design through production rollout, operation, and iteration based on user feedback. Key responsibilities include scaling the platform's compute layer as demand grows, improving user-facing abstractions so engineers can express complex test topologies without deep Kubernetes expertise, and building deployment tooling that works across cloud and on-premise environments.
You will work on unsolved problems in a rapidly growing product, expected to operate end-to-end: design, implement, ship, monitor, and engage directly with users. Senior engineers on this team lead projects, mentor other engineers, and make architectural decisions. You'll improve system reliability and performance through instrumentation and root cause analysis, raise the engineering bar through design review and technical mentorship, and collaborate with internal teams and external customers to understand platform gaps and ship improvements.
Required: 3–6 years professional software engineering experience, CS degree or equivalent, strong production experience in Go, Rust, C++, Java, or Python, hands-on Kubernetes expertise including controllers and custom resources, experience building and operating distributed systems in production, infrastructure-as-code and modern CI/CD tooling (Terraform, Helm), demonstrated ability to own ambiguous cross-cutting projects end-to-end, strong written and verbal communication, and eligibility for U.S. Secret security clearance.
