Onehouse is a mission-driven data infrastructure company building the industry's most interoperable data lakehouse platform through a cloud-native managed service built on Apache Hudi. The company enables organizations to ingest data at scale with minute-level freshness, centrally store it, and make it available to any downstream query engine for analytics, real-time AI/ML, and other use cases.
You will join the Data Infrastructure team, which serves as the technical backbone of Onehouse's engineering efforts. This team bridges open-source development (Apache Hudi, already used at scale by Uber, Amazon, ByteDance, and others) and enterprise product development. You'll work on deeply technical challenges in building a 2-sided engineering product that solves complex distributed systems problems.
In this role, you'll focus on database internals, building cornerstone infrastructure by working under Hudi's hood to solve optimization and systems challenges. You'll contribute directly to Apache Hudi while helping define a new industry category—the transactional data lake. The work involves tackling large-scale data systems challenges that power some of the world's largest enterprises.
Onehouse is backed by top-tier investors (Craft, Greylock, Addition Ventures) with $68M in total funding and recently closed a $35M Series B. The team comprises seasoned builders with experience from Uber, Snowflake, AWS, LinkedIn, Confluent, and similar high-scale companies.
Note: If not local to the Bay Area, candidates must be willing to relocate within 45 days and onboard in person for one week. A relocation package is provided.
