Helsing is building AI-enabled autonomous drone systems and software platforms to support defense and democratic institutions. The company develops Altra, an AI-powered drone software platform, and HX-2, an autonomous drone system.
You will join the Platform Engineering team as a security-focused engineer responsible for embedding security throughout the developer platform and software delivery pipeline. This role owns the security posture of the development environment, ensuring CMMC Level 2 compliance, hardening the software supply chain, and implementing controls required for product teams to achieve Authority to Operate (ATO) against NIST and other cybersecurity frameworks.
Day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Deploying, updating, and securing Kubernetes workloads through ArgoCD and GitOps workflows
- Building and maintaining secure CI/CD pipelines that enforce policy, scan for vulnerabilities, and produce auditable build artifacts
- Maintaining and hardening shared services (GitLab, Artifactory, container registries) that the entire organization depends on
- Implementing policy-as-code and infrastructure-as-code for security enforcement
- Working closely with platform and product engineers to design secure development infrastructure
- Automating compliance controls so that security is built into every layer of the platform
This is a hands-on engineering role that combines infrastructure expertise with deep security knowledge. You are not just auditing compliance—you are architecting and building the systems that make compliance automatic and continuous. The role requires someone who can bridge the gap between security requirements and developer experience, ensuring that security controls enable rather than impede product velocity.
