Salary: PLN 28,300 - 40,000 / monthly
Revolut is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with deep expertise in self-managed storage infrastructure to design, build, and operate critical systems at global scale. You will take ownership of Kafka clusters and other distributed storage solutions across cloud and on-premise environments, architecting multi-region deployments, failover strategies, and disaster recovery for mission-critical systems serving 70+ million customers.
Key responsibilities include designing and evolving storage solutions; building and maintaining highly available distributed systems; architecting multi-region deployments with robust failover and disaster recovery; developing infrastructure-as-code and self-service platforms for engineering teams; driving automation across provisioning, scaling, upgrades, patching, and incident remediation; establishing reliability standards (SLOs, SLIs, error budgets) and improving observability; collaborating with backend, platform, security, and compliance teams on regulatory-compliant infrastructure; and participating in incident response and postmortem processes with a focus on systemic improvements.
Required qualifications: production expertise operating Apache Kafka at scale (cluster provisioning, lifecycle management, capacity planning, performance tuning, replication, failover, resilience design); security hardening knowledge (ACLs, encryption, authentication); background in SRE, platform engineering, or infrastructure engineering; deep understanding of distributed systems concepts (consensus, partitioning, fault tolerance, backpressure, networking); hands-on experience with Linux, Docker, and Kubernetes; expertise with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) and configuration management (Ansible); familiarity with CI/CD systems and automation pipelines; ability to independently design and deliver complex systems in collaboration with multiple stakeholders; strong hands-on software engineering skills.
Nice-to-have: experience operating other stateful systems at scale (Postgres, Redis, object storage); knowledge of monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Stackdriver, Vector, VictoriaMetrics); exposure to regulated environments or financial systems; experience operating infrastructure across cloud (GCP/AWS) and on-premise.
