Salary: USD 213,000 - 320,000 / annual
Notion is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Developer Platform team, responsible for building the foundational APIs, tools, and infrastructure that make Notion extensible and connected. In this role, you will directly contribute to platform capabilities that enable developers, admins, and builders to create reliable integrations and automations on top of Notion, connecting customer apps, data, and workflows into a unified workspace.
You will work across both internal platform contributions that accelerate other Notion engineering teams and end-user-facing functionality that enables widespread toolmaking. Your responsibilities include evolving Developer Platform capabilities across APIs, MCP tools, and integration infrastructure; contributing to overall performance, reliability, and robustness of the Notion product as it scales; and partnering with engineering leaders to identify and execute high-leverage technical investments.
You'll collaborate with a cross-functional team including product, design, data science, and user research to define strategy and drive execution from conception through research, implementation, and maintenance. The role requires strong product instincts—the ability to take vague problems, propose solid technical approaches, and know when to cut scope.
Required qualifications include 7+ years of experience shipping production software with a strong track record of owning features end-to-end, fluency with TypeScript across both backend and frontend, and strong product instincts. Nice-to-haves include experience building developer tools like APIs and SDKs, experience driving teams toward shared goals, and familiarity with AI/agent tooling or LLM-driven product experiences.
The role is based in San Francisco or New York City with hybrid work expectations: in-office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays (Anchor Days). Notion is committed to providing highly competitive cash compensation and equity.
