Dialpad is an AI platform for customer experience that combines AI agents with human agents on a single platform to resolve customer problems in real time across voice and digital channels. The company is backed by top-tier investors including Andreessen Horowitz and GV, and serves market-leading brands like Netflix, Motorola Solutions, and Randstad.
As a Software Engineer on the Developer Platform team, you will lead the design and development of the APIs, events, and frameworks that empower external developers to build integrations and plug-ins for Dialpad. This platform is central to scaling Dialpad's integration ecosystem and ensuring third-party developers have robust tools to create seamless experiences for customers. Your work will span backend public APIs, event frameworks, frontend plug-in frameworks, and client libraries.
You will own a set of core components within the Developer Platform team, translating developer workflows and business needs—identified in partnership with the technical product manager—into high-quality, scalable technical solutions. You'll collaborate closely with engineering teammates, product leaders, and external developer stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include owning the full development lifecycle of public APIs and platform features from design through production monitoring, collaborating with product managers and external stakeholders to identify and translate developer needs into scalable solutions, mentoring other engineers through design reviews and code reviews, and contributing to the long-term technical direction and architecture of the developer platform.
You should bring professional experience designing, launching, and maintaining scalable backend or full-stack platform systems, proficiency in Python or JavaScript with hands-on experience building APIs and distributed systems, and a track record of shipping production systems at scale. The position reports to the Developer Platform Director and requires a hybrid working arrangement based in the Vancouver office.
