Coinbase's Developer Infrastructure group is hiring Senior Software Engineers to design, build, and operate the foundational systems that power all Coinbase engineering. You'll own the path from commit to production, including scalable CI and build infrastructure, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure.
In this role, you'll design and operate core developer-infrastructure services that are fast, reliable, and secure at Coinbase scale. You'll drive measurable improvements to metrics that every engineer feels: build and CI wall time, deploy speed and safety, and test feedback time and flakiness. This is high-leverage, deep systems work at a financial-grade reliability and security bar.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, build, and operate core developer-infrastructure services spanning CI/CD, deployment orchestration, and test infrastructure
- Drive measurable improvements to build speed, deploy safety, and test reliability across thousands of engineers
- Own your services end-to-end, including SLOs, observability, and on-call responsibilities
- Partner closely with engineering teams across Coinbase to understand pain points and translate them into platform improvements
- Lead technical design for ambitious, cross-cutting projects and see them through to production
Coinbase is a remote-first company with quarterly in-person "surge" sessions for intense collaborative work. The environment is high-intensity and uncompromising on mission execution. You'll work alongside engineers who refuse to settle for "good enough" and are committed to increasing economic freedom through cryptocurrency and blockchain technology.
