As a Software Engineer - Developer Experience, you will own the implementation and maintenance of CI/CD systems and developer productivity solutions. You'll support Dremio's CI/CD infrastructure with both regularly scheduled work and on-demand break-fix support, identifying improvement opportunities and implementing changes to increase system efficiency and effectiveness.
Key responsibilities include:
- Solving problems for fellow engineers by leveraging playbooks, identifying workarounds, and automating manual processes
- Working across all major cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) to manage infrastructure and access controls
- Building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and associated systems to boost organizational efficiency
- Automating local development workflows and analyzing performance bottlenecks
- Performing root cause analysis on issues, filing defects, and documenting resolutions
- Maintaining green development branches and automating release engineering processes
- Reporting on CI/CD system status, reliability, and robustness
- Actively participating in code reviews
You should bring 1+ years of experience with large-scale distributed systems, proficiency in Java, C++, Python, or Go, and hands-on experience with CI/CD tools like Jenkins. Required skills include cloud platform knowledge (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Infrastructure as Code, Terraform, BASH, Docker, and Kubernetes. You'll need a B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or related field, basic understanding of cloud networking and architecture, and knowledge of Maven or similar build environments. Bonus experience includes data lakes, data warehousing, and SQL proficiency.
