Cogent Security is an Applied AI Lab building next-generation AI agents for cybersecurity. The company's "AI Taskforce" assesses petabytes of enterprise data to remediate security issues before critical breaches occur, partnering with Fortune 500 companies to secure complex production environments. Backed by Greylock and Bain Capital Ventures, the team includes talent from Stanford, Berkeley, Scale AI, Databricks, Stripe, Wiz, and DeepMind.
As a Developer Experience Engineer on the Core Platform team, you will own the software delivery lifecycle—the build, CI/CD, and provisioning systems that enable both engineers and AI agents to ship securely and rapidly. This is a hands-on role focused on building the infrastructure that takes code from idea to production, including systems that allow agents to build, deploy, test, and verify autonomously.
Key responsibilities include:
- Building an agent development experience that streamlines the idea-to-production workflow, enabling agents to build, deploy, test, and verify code autonomously
- Developing a self-hosted software builder as a secure GitHub Actions Runner alternative that meets compliance requirements
- Adopting and operating solutions to provision infrastructure securely
Required qualifications:
- Deep experience with CI/CD and build systems (GitHub Actions, Harness, Spacelift)
- Strong infrastructure-as-code skills with Terraform
- Comfort working in an agent-forward environment with Claude Code and Codex
- 2–4 years at an AI startup, plus 2–4 years at a successful high-growth tech company
Bonus experience includes self-hosting across GitHub and ECR, build tooling (Pants, uv, e2b, pico), Artifactory, startup founder background, and application security expertise.
