Speechify, a text-to-speech platform used by over 50 million people globally, is hiring a Software Engineer to join the Data side of its AI team. The role focuses on all aspects of data collection and pipeline infrastructure to support model training operations at petabyte scale.
You will be responsible for discovering and integrating new audio data sources into the ingestion pipeline, operating and extending cloud infrastructure currently running on GCP with Terraform, and collaborating closely with research scientists to optimize the cost/throughput/quality frontier. You'll work with the AI team and leadership to shape the dataset roadmap powering next-generation consumer and enterprise products.
Key responsibilities include:
- Sourcing new audio data and integrating it into ingestion pipelines
- Operating and extending GCP-based cloud infrastructure managed with Terraform
- Collaborating with scientists to deliver richer datasets at scale with lower costs
- Contributing to the AI team's dataset strategy
Required qualifications:
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field
- 5+ years of industry software development experience
- Proficiency with bash/Python scripting in Linux environments
- Professional experience with Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code on a major cloud provider (GCP preferred)
- Strong communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
Desirable experience includes web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows.
