Speechify, a 50M+ user text-to-speech platform, is hiring a Software Engineer for its Data Infrastructure & Acquisition team within the AI organization. The role focuses on building and operating the data pipeline that powers Speechify's next-generation AI models.
You will own all aspects of data collection and ingestion infrastructure, working at petabyte scale. Key responsibilities include: sourcing new audio data streams and integrating them into the ingestion pipeline; operating and extending cloud infrastructure on GCP using Terraform; collaborating with research scientists to optimize the cost/throughput/quality tradeoff; and helping shape the AI team's dataset roadmap for consumer and enterprise products.
The ideal candidate has 5+ years of software development experience with strong proficiency in Python/bash scripting, Docker, and Infrastructure-as-Code. Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing workflows is valued. You'll work in a 100% distributed, asynchronous environment with ~200 employees globally, many from top companies (Amazon, Microsoft, Google, Stripe, Vercel) and research institutions.
