With ~200 distributed employees globally, Speechify is building next-generation AI/ML products to support learners with dyslexia, ADD, low vision, and other learning differences.
You'll join the Data side of the AI team, owning all aspects of data collection and pipeline infrastructure to support model training at petabyte scale. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll be scrappy in sourcing new audio data, operating and extending cloud infrastructure (GCP, Terraform), and collaborating closely with research scientists and leadership to optimize the cost/throughput/quality frontier of datasets.
Key responsibilities include: identifying and integrating new audio data sources into ingestion pipelines; managing and extending GCP-based cloud infrastructure; working with scientists to shift dataset economics and quality; and contributing to the AI team's dataset roadmap for consumer and enterprise products.
You bring 5+ years of software development experience, strong proficiency in Python/bash scripting, Docker, Infrastructure-as-Code, and hands-on experience with at least one major cloud provider (ideally GCP). Experience with web crawlers and large-scale data processing is a plus. You're adaptable, communicate clearly, and thrive in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment with minimal process overhead.
