You'll join the Data side of the AI team, owning all aspects of data collection and ingestion to support model training at petabyte scale. This is a hands-on engineering role where you'll be scrappy in sourcing new audio data, operating and extending cloud infrastructure (GCP, Terraform), and collaborating closely with research scientists to optimize the cost/throughput/quality frontier. You'll help craft the AI team's dataset roadmap to power Speechify's next-generation consumer and enterprise products.
Key responsibilities include: identifying and integrating new audio data sources into the ingestion pipeline; managing and extending GCP infrastructure; working with scientists to shift performance boundaries; and contributing to strategic dataset planning alongside leadership.
You'll need 5+ years of software development experience, proficiency with Python/bash in Linux, hands-on Docker and Infrastructure-as-Code experience (GCP preferred), and ideally background with web crawlers or large-scale data workflows. Strong communication and adaptability are essential in this fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment.
