Anduril Industries is a defense technology company building AI-powered military systems and manufacturing infrastructure. The Maritime Digital Production (MDP) team within the Heavy Metal division develops the full technology stack powering Anduril's shipbuilding factories, including data infrastructure, manufacturing execution systems, scheduling engines, and AI systems that optimize production.
As a Software Engineer in Data Engineering on the LOKI initiative, you will develop data systems that power intelligent manufacturing scheduling and optimization. Your work will focus on building high-performance systems that replan production schedules in under 10 minutes when disruptions occur on the factory floor.
Key responsibilities include:
- Build high-performance data processing systems using constraint solvers and numerical optimization techniques for production scheduling
- Partner with manufacturing engineers and factory operators to understand workflows and translate them into software requirements
- Design and implement data access layers for computational geometry operations, extracting features and dependencies from CAD models
- Develop graph algorithms modeling manufacturing dependencies, resource constraints, and optimization objectives
- Integrate data from PLM, ERP, MES, and CAD/CAM systems into a unified foundation for scheduling algorithms
- Deploy and operate systems in factory environments, including edge compute clusters and OT networks
- Implement and optimize constraint solvers (MIP, CP, SAT) and numerical optimization algorithms
- Monitor and optimize algorithm performance to ensure sub-10-minute replanning at production scale
- Participate in on-call rotation supporting production factory systems
- Write production-quality code with comprehensive tests and participate in code reviews
You will join a scaling team (70+ engineers across multiple US sites) working on consequential problems where system reliability directly impacts manufacturing output. This is a strategic investment in end-to-end digitization of the manufacturing lifecycle, not a support function.
