You'll join a small, high-trust engineering team shipping quickly. This is a full-stack role spanning React frontends, TypeScript APIs, and backend services in Kotlin and Go, all deployed on AWS. You'll design and implement end-to-end features, own problems from design through production support, and collaborate with AI researchers, security researchers, and backend engineers.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and build full-stack systems integrating frontend and backend
- Develop scalable APIs and backend services in TypeScript, Kotlin, and Go
- Deploy and operate services in AWS and other cloud providers
- Own problems end-to-end from design through deployment and production support
- Navigate ambiguity and help define how the team builds
- Collaborate across the stack with researchers and engineers
The role emphasizes being at the intersection of deep tech and real-world impact, with a focus on solving open-ended problems and building reliable, high-quality products with robust backend systems.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience building and operating full-stack systems
- Proficiency with TypeScript
- Experience designing and consuming APIs (REST or GraphQL)
- Strong backend development experience (Node.js, Kotlin, Go, or similar languages)
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work with incomplete information
- Thoughtful communicator who values clarity and simplicity
- Comfort working in fast-paced, early-stage startup environment
BONUS QUALIFICATIONS:
- Event-driven architectures, message queues, or async workflows
- Building scrappy, iterative frontends prioritizing speed and feedback
- AWS or similar cloud platform familiarity
- Infrastructure as code (Terraform, CDK)
- Strong UX appreciation and design sensibility
- Quick React/TypeScript prototyping
- Relational database design and optimization (Postgres)
- Systems programming, networking, or performance tuning background
- Hybrid deployment experience (cloud + on-prem)
- Early-stage startup experience
- Security products or technical user products background
